“Several lawmakers in our region are headed Friday to Columbus, Ohio, to come up with a solution to the pension crisis impacting more than a million Americans and thousands of small businesses across the nation. Unionized coal and steel miners, bakers, and tobacco workers were among the thousands of people who showed up Thursday at the Ohio state Capitol to rally for their pensions. … The hearing Friday will examine the financial impact of the potential failure of numerous pension plans guaranteed by the federal government for retirees, workers, small businesses and taxpayers.”
