An article dated September 4, 2019, includes “Wisconsin's public pension plan is the best funded in the nation, according to a new analysis from the Tax Foundation on Fiscal Year 2017 data. … The analysis is based on data released by the Pew Charitable Trusts.” (Note: Wisconsin does indeed have well-funded pension plans, but also has high bond borrowing debt, and doesn’t come nearly as close to the top of the table on Truth in Accounting’s analysis. Also, note the “new analysis” we are just learning about, based on fiscal 2017 data.
